A Gentle Breeze Arrives was a solo exhibition of paintings by Xu Qingfeng, presented at Dezhou Art Museum in Gaotang, Shandong, from 18 to 26 November 2025. As the tenth stop of the touring exhibition, the project brought together seventy-seven works spanning oil painting and ink, offering a focused view of Xu’s long-standing exploration of Chinese spirit, realism, and contemporary aesthetic expression.

Xu Qingfeng is a leading figure in contemporary Chinese art and art education, serving as President of Shandong University of Arts, Chairman of the Shandong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Chairman of the Shandong Artists Association. Through thematic sections including Xinjiang and Gannan sketches, portraits of national figures, swan paintings, and symbolic ink works, the exhibition traced Xu’s artistic language across landscape, figure, memory, and cultural identity. A Gentle Breeze Arrives reflected on how painting can carry historical depth while opening new visual possibilities between Chinese and Western artistic traditions.
