Painting the Greater Bay Area, Tracing a Journey in Ink was a solo exhibition of Li Dacheng’s gongbi painting presented at Shenzhen University Museum, Shenzhen. Organised by Shenzhen University, with support from the university’s Publicity Department and Social Sciences Department, the exhibition was jointly presented by the Jao Tsung-I Institute of Culture Studies, the Yu Jigao Chinese Meticulous Painting Research Institute, and Shenzhen University Museum.

Li Dacheng is a representative figure in the development of gongbi painting in the Greater Bay Area, known for bringing together the refined traditions of Chinese meticulous painting with personal experience, regional history, and reflections on social transformation. Through more than seventy representative works and archival materials, the exhibition traced over four decades of Li’s artistic practice, situating his visual language within the broader cultural development of the Greater Bay Area after China’s reform and opening-up.
